The MOT defect classes are divided into 3 degrees: risky, most important, and minor. A vehicle with a dangerous or essential disorder will not skip its MOT test.
Dangerous Defects: These defects make the automobile unfit for driving on the road. It is illegal to drive an automobile with risky defects, even to or from an MOT. These issues must be fixed before the car can legally be pushed.
Major Defects: While important defects can also result in a failed MOT test, they do not necessarily make the automobile unroadworthy. If the present-day MOT certificate is valid and there are no dangerous defects, the vehicle can still be driven to a restoration facility.
Minor Defects: These defects are not sufficient to, without delay, cause the car to fail its MOT check. However, it is cautioned to address minor defects directly.
